Rietveld Uncut

Workshop and event
Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Ceramic department

Conducted with students and supervisor Bastienne Kramer

In the ceramic playground art is being demonstrated as a vivid process formed through interaction of artists and spectators on three levels: 1) by presenting moulds as a form of the documentation of people studying and working at the Academy and exchanging them for face casts of visitors; 2) by inviting public to participate in building, adding and subtracting from the common clay sculpture with an existing set of tools and moulds; 3) by documenting the event in a video format and playing the result during the exhibition; By performing these actions both students and public become actors and directors of the event while creating an unpredictable result.
