The research revolves around Yugoslav everyday objects omnipresent in both urban and rural public spaces. Three lines of chairs: Uni87, Modres and Ergoline, designed in TMN Jadran by designer Mladen Orešić, have defined visual landscapes of an era in almost all aspects of our lives, from schools and kindergartens to hospitals, bus stations and stadiums. Besides the items captured in their actual environments, or what was left of them, the research includes photo and video documentation on the process of their making, the context in which they were produced and distributed. What makes the chairs Ergoline, Modres and Uni87 so intriguing is their continuous presence in numerous spheres of everyday life, from the eighties when they were first developed until today. The paradox of such a form of presence of a designer item lies in the fact that it also makes them incredibly iconic for the contexts in which one can find them, as well as hidden for a non-sensitive observer. The research was presented through an exhibition in CDA Gallery in Zagreb.
